James Chappell, 29, of Crescent City Killed in Motorcycle Accident ...

LA VERNE, California ? James Chappell, 29, of Crescent City was killed early Thursday morning after the driver of a Ford 350 van cut him off while he was riding his motorcycle on Interstate 210 Freeway at Fruit Street, according to a report by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner Department.

The motorcyclist ran into the rear of the van and was ejected from his bike and thrown onto the pavement about 6:56 a.m. Paramedics responding to the crash scene transported Chappell by ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he died at 8:33 p.m., the report said.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating this traffic collision in an effort to determine who is at fault. If it is determined that the truck driver is at fault for the motorcycle accident, the family of the young man killed in the crash could hold him liable for his wrongful death.

?Drivers responsible for the death of another motorist cannot comprehend the grief and sorrow a victim?s family and friends experience after the sudden loss of a loved one in a traffic accident,? Attorney West Seegmiller said.? ?This is a life-changing experience for this family and the negligent driver should be held responsible for his actions.?
